Obverse: TI AVGVS DIVI AVGVSTI IMP CAESAR. Laureate head to right. Head of Eagle countermarked. Reverse: FVL SPARSO L SATVRNINO II VIR MCL. bull standing right.
Good quality coin, in EF- condition, conserving complete details in both sides, including a nice head of Tiberius and a superb head of eagle countermarked in the obverse. Delicious green patina totally natural. Rarely a countermarked coin looks so good (the countermark process is very aggressive for any coin) and too is quite rare to find a so clear and precise countermark.
Eagle´s head countermark was produced during Caligula and Claudius reigns. It´s a military type countermark. Some scholars have identified to the Legio X Gemina as the authority that ordered this countermark.
