The marriage between Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard took place on January 7, 1937, in the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague. The ceremony was a grand event, attracting much public attention and media coverage. Juliana, the eldest daughter of Queen Wilhelmina, married the German prince, who became her husband. The marriage was seen as an important step in the continuity of the Dutch royal house. Together, they had four daughters: Beatrix, Irene, Margriet, and Marijke. Their relationship was marked by challenges, especially during World War II.
