The inauguration of Queen Juliana took place on September 6, 1948, in the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. After the abdication of her mother, Queen Wilhelmina, Juliana ascended the throne as the fourth monarch of the Netherlands. The solemn ceremony was attended by dignitaries and members of the Royal House. Juliana’s inauguration symbolized a new era for the Netherlands, as the country was recovering from World War II. Her down-to-earth and approachable style made her popular with the people, and her reign was marked by social reforms and international cooperation.
