عدل ['adil] // راست [rāst], with a decoration (or "la la") below. 13mm, 2.93 g. Zeno #361713 (this coin); Tye -.
"Rast" is a Persian synonym to Arabic "'adil" عدل "just, true, genuine; full-weight". Extremely rare, with only a few known examples.
This type is closely related to an 'adli from Lahore in the name of Mu'izz (Ghorid ruler Mohamed bin Sam), who died in 1206. It might have been minted soon after the death of Mohamed bin Sam (1206) and before his succession was resolved, or, as some authorities suggest, during the early Mongol period, perhaps 1220s. This type is not published in Tye or other standard catalogues.
