six rivers in Central Europe it is fascinating that gold can actually be found and mined in German rivers. Already since 1992 a special river gold project has been created in our medal manufactory Victor Huster. It now includes natural gold from six diGerent rivers: Rhine, Danube, Elbe, Isar, Main and Saale. Modern methods of gold extraction have improved the processes since 2018. However, river gold remains an exceptionally rare material, as evidenced by the small runs of the various designs. To date, we have designed a series of 18 diGerent coinages in the ounce system, as well as 15 additional pieces in ducat size. For the Rhine gold series, we are exclusively working on motifs from the Roman era in the Rhine valley. In the future, these will also be issued with a modern and contemporary design. DiGerent denominations of 1/4, 1/2 and 1-ounce with individual numbering will be issued to emphasize the rarity of this precious material. Our latest coinage is the Rheingold medal in 1 ounce weight with the motif "Roman Theater of Kaiseraugst", which was issued in an edition of 30 pieces.
