Historical context:
Awarded by the Waassche Society of Beekeepers (Maatschappij der Bijenteelers), this medal commemorates a prize competition held in Temse (Tevracene) on 16 September 1894. Designed by the well-known Belgian medallist Hart, the piece reflects both the artistic richness of late 19th-century agricultural medals and the importance of beekeeping in Belgian rural life. The suspended crown adds ceremonial gravitas.
