Reverse: Inscription in French summarizing his life and achievements: his contribution to the liberty of the United Provinces, oratorical and political skills, authorship of the Compromise of Nobles (1566), capture and imprisonment by the Spaniards, ambassadorship to England (1578), deputation at the Diet of Worms (1580), signature of the Treaty of Tours with Alençon (1582), and defense of Antwerp against the Duke of Parma.
