Obverse

Three busts in connected ornamental oval frames: Hugo Schwabe above, facing slightly left; Dr Rudolf Wackernagel below left, facing right; and Dr Hans Huber below right, facing left. Their names appear beneath the portraits: HUGO SCHWABE / Dr. R. WACKERNAGEL / Dr. HANS HUBER.

Stars fill the upper field. Below the portraits, the dates 9.10.11.JULI / 1892 appear above a radiant Swiss cross, with two laurel branches tied together beneath. Signature along the lower inner border: B. AMMANN-KIENAST. SCHAFFHAUSEN.

Reverse

Detailed view of the festival stage, with costumed figures and mounted participants before an architectural backdrop. The stage’s monumental framework is decorated with figures, flags and a Swiss cross. Musicians occupy the orchestra pit below. At the foot, a shield bearing the Basel crozier divides the dates 1392 and 1892.
