Rare issue of a Queen Victoria gold sovereign with a clear overdate: 1857/5.
It seems that the discovery of this variant took place sometime in 2010 by a well-known London auction house.
Since then, not many specimens have been found with this technical-numismatic curiosity. To give an idea of its rarity, it can be noted that since 2010, just over a dozen specimens have been auctioned, and only 5 have been encapsulated by NGC.
A true curiosity in the vast and golden world of Sovereigns.
