One Taler 1802 - LAST coinage of the Bishopric of Regensburg.
FRANCISCVS II. D.G. ROM. IMP. SEMP. AVG., Bust to the right with KORNLEIN below.
LARGIENTE NVMINE, Two-headed eagle with Crown on a top of the Shield, 1801--1802 at sides.
Davenport 793, KM 475, Th. 273.
NGC MS 62.
Extremely RARE last taler of the City of Regensburg, in its transition from the bishopric to the secular town in 1803, last mintage - mixed year 1801-1802, unusual design with Imperial Eagle sitting on the Coat of Arms. A lots of history behind this coin - right before the City was united as a principality for Dahlberg to become a part of the Rhine Confederation in a future. Dismal mintage and historical value place this type of taler to the most collectible and RARE coins of German State! Especially hard to find in high grade - MS state, this particular coin signified by heavy dark patina on clear reflective fields, sharp details of the design and very appealing look for the collectors! Graded as MS 62 by NGC this coin is a TOP certified population and the only one in NGC registry! Top collectible and investment item from any perspectives!
