Davenport 2265, KM 151.
PCGS MS 62.
Bishopric of Fulda. Very interesting late Contribution Taler of Adalbert III von Harstall (1788-1802), the Prince-Bishop and Prince-Abbot of Fulda. This type of thaler is belongs to the very last period of Fulda's independent ecclesiastical coinage - the state was secularized soon after - in 1803. Interesting variety - Davenport 2265-A - with the crozier facing outward and the wreath above the sword in the heraldic. High state of preservation, attractive original-looking dark patina - it ranges from steel gray to pink-irridiscent in protected areas. Very convincing late-18th-century appearance. Choice Mint State for the type, with sharply defined peripheral details, a characteristic central strike weakness and scattered minor contact marks.Well-deserved MS 62 grade per PCGS. An appealing collectible find for ANY collectors and investors!
