Keerzijde: Familiewapen hangend aan lint tussen I - R (van Jan Root). DOOR BEWINTHEBBEREN VAN DE OUDE WESTINDISCHE COMPAGNIE AEN HAREN DIRECTEUR GEN DEN 12 XBR 1676 GESCHONKEN.
Toegekend aan Root voor zijn diensten op de kust van Guinea door de eerste West-Indische Compagnie (die in 1674 werd ontbonden).
Later gietsel, sporen van vergulding, vermoedelijk vervaardigd in de 18e eeuw.
Obverse: two ships at sea tossed by stormy waves, WIC (Dutch West India Company) on flag. SIC OMNIA ROTANT.
Reverse: Family crest hanging on ribbon between I - R (of Jan Root). DONATED BY BEWINTHEBBEREN VAN DE OUDE WESTINDISCHE COMPAGNIE AEN HAREN DIRECTEUR GEN DEN 12 XBR 1676.
Awarded to Root for his services on the coast of Guinea by the first West-Indische Compagnie(which was dissolved in 1674).
Later casting, traces of gilding, probably made in the 18th century.
