Engraved "August Patey", on the edge the signature MONNAIE DE PARIS-ARGENT. Silver, weight with ribbon 15,85 g, diameter 32 mm. Original ribbon, dark spot patina. Very rare item struck in silver.
The design of the medal was imprinted in the wax from which the plaster mold was made. From it, a negative in copper was created, which was a prototype used by a reduction machine to produce a medal with a diameter of 50 mm. Once the dies were completed, the medal was presented to the King, who commissioned a second production of a 32 mm diameter medal struck in silver and bronze.
