This Colombian banknote, with a face value of 5000 pesos, was issued in 2022. It is part of a series identified by the prefix "BA".

The front of the banknote features the poet José Asunción Silva. He is depicted from the back, at the center of a complex honeycomb pattern, holding an umbrella. His portrait also appears on the right. A Puya-type plant (Paepalanthus columbiensis) and a bee are visible, positioned between the watermark and the figure of the poet. The name of the issuing institution and the country are inscribed in the lower left. The face value is indicated in numerals and letters in the upper left, and vertically, in letters, on the right side.
