Issued in 2026 by the Royal Canadian Mint, this commemorative 2 Dollar coin celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion, founded in 1926.
For a century, the Legion has played an essential role in preserving the memory of veterans and in providing support to veterans, military personnel, and their families.
The reverse features a symbolic composition dedicated to remembrance and the duty of memory. This version stands out through the use of colour, which highlights certain design elements and enhances the commemorative nature of the issue.
The motto "MEMORIAM EORUM RETINEBIMUS", which can be translated as "We will keep their memory", accompanies the composition.
The obverse features the effigy of King Charles III, along with the face value of 2 Dollars and the year 2026.
This issue exists in two circulation variants: a coloured version and a non-coloured version. This example corresponds to the coloured version.
