At its heart, an adult sheep and a lamb stand together in a tender composition, surrounded by the twelve zodiac characters that complete the cycle of the Eastern calendar. The reverse of this Gold medal presents an adult sheep beside a young lamb, their bodies closely joined in a scene of protection, gentleness, and continuity. Delicate engraving defines the wool, faces, and natural contours of both animals, while the polished Gold field heightens their sculptural presence. Around the twelve-sided border appear the inscriptions: "子", "丑", "寅", "卯", "辰", "巳", "午", "未", "申", "酉", "戌", and "亥" - the twelve signs of the Oriental Zodiac arranged as a complete symbolic cycle. The obverse is deliberately restrained, allowing the pure Gold surface and Prooflike Finish to dominate the composition. Near the bottom appears a small rectangular hallmark bearing "999" together with additional Japanese inscription. Minimal. Refined. Almost meditative.
