This French banknote has a face value of 20 francs. It was issued in 1940.

The front of the banknote features an allegorical composition with two central figures. On the left, a female figure symbolizes Science, holding an open book and compass, evoking knowledge and scientific rigor. On the right, a male figure represents Labor, leaning on an anvil and holding a hammer, symbolizing industry and productive effort. The background features geometric patterns and sober decorative elements.

On the back, there is a similar scene, but in a slightly different composition. The same figures of Science and Labor are present, but their postures and the arrangement of elements vary. The figure of Science appears more contemplative, while that of Labor is represented in a more dynamic pose. Ornamental motifs frame the scene, creating a visual harmony.

The inscription "20 Francs" is visible on both sides of the banknote, as well as the date of issue, August 22, 1940. The banknote also bears the mention "Série A.878", indicating its belonging to a specific series of issue.
